"The
abundance of natural resources and willingness to aid our
efforts of expansion and growth helped finalize the decision
to relocate to Russellville. The availability
of electricity, natural gas and water, which was limited
in Salem, has allowed for the growth that we have come to
expereince since moving to this area."

Central
Location
Alabama
is positioned at the heart of the fastest growing region
in the United States and the fourth largest economy in
the world. In recent years, the Southern United States
has accounted for 45 percent of all job growth in the
country. Russellville shares in that prosperity. In addition,
Russellville's centralized
location positions it within a single day's drive to over
one half of the US consumer market. This means transportation
costs may be dramatically reduced in comparison to other
areas.
Affordable
Real Estate and Taxes
Because of lower property costs and lower taxes, Russellville
offers definite cost advantages over many other areas
in the South and across the nation. This provides the
advantage of a more economical start-up cost. This savings
continues year after year for businesses and their employees.

Affordable
Utilities
Today, with all of the energy supply problems and high
costs, utilities are a key issue for businesses and corporations.
Russellville electricity is produced and distributed by
the Tennessee
Valley Authority (TVA) which offers a high level of
reliability at incredibly competitive rates. Average retail
electricity costs in the TVA region are 22% lower than
the national average. In 2000, TVA met a record power
demand of 29,344 megawatts without difficulty. Power interruptions
were less than 8 minutes per customer per year
for TVA as compared to the National Average of 8-9
hours per customer per year in 1999, according to
Financial Times. Would down time affect your business?
Natural
Resources
Russellville boasts an ample supply of many natural resources,
making the area an ideal location for a diverse range
of business. Ample supply of fresh water has helped companies
like Gold Kist Poultry thrive in our area. The second
largest poultry producer in the US, the Gold Kist division
in Russellville uses 10 million
gallons of fresh water a week.
Diverse
Industry Support
For
some time now, Alabama has been a leader in high tech,
with firms involved in the aerospace and electronics industries.
Over the last few years, more industries have caught on
to the advantages that Alabama has to offer. Honda, Mercedes,
Daimler / Chrysler, Toyota, Teksid, Office Max, Navistar,
Saks, Dayton - Hudson, Hertz, Lockheed / Martin, Boeing
and Metal Technologies are just a few of the major corporations
that have recently determined that operating in Alabama
communities makes economic sense.
Soil
quality suits production of a number of crops including
corn, cotton, soybeans and peanuts.
The
forest products industry is also thriving here due to
the abundance of land which is well suited
to both hard and soft woods.
